South Windsor Photo of the Week: Making TRACS

South Windsor Junior Women's Club donates $2,000 to the regional animal control shelter.

The South Windsor Junior Women’s Club donated $2,000 to the Tyler Regional Animal Control Shelter (TRACS) on Thursday morning.

Pictured is Chief of Police Matthew Reed accepting a big honkin’ check from three members of the Junior Women’s Club.

The money will go to fencing for an enclosure for larger animals, according to Reed, who thanked the Junior Women’s Club for its generous donation.

TRACS, which has been up and running since Jan. 1 and serves the towns of South Windsor, Manchester and East Hartford, will have a grand opening on April 26, Reed said in a telephone interview.
