"In Connecticut, trees are the number one cause of power outages, especially when severe weather strikes," according to the news release. "That’s why CL&P invests millions of dollars each year in vegetation management across its service territory, trimming and removing trees that threaten the electrical system to improve service reliability."

Anyone with questions can contact Mark Owens, the South Windsor tree warden, at 860-648-6366.

More information about CL&P tree trimming and vegetation management can be found on the CL&P website.
