Zombie Outbreak to Strike Manchester Oct. 24

Brains...brains...

Come Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, Main Street in Manchester is going to look like an episode of "The Walking Dead."

No, really.

That's because, on that day, the Downtown Manchester Special Services District will host a Zombie Block Party from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. where attendees can come dressed as zombies, have some fun, sip some beer, listen to some music and even dance at a variety of locations in the downtown area.

Kyle Reyes, Director of Marketing for Carter Chevrolet, who helped dream up the idea, said the block party is an effort to raise about $5,000 to replace the downtown area's Christmas Tree, which was blown down during Hurricane Sandy

"The whole concept is to try and raise money to replace the tree, so we're doing a zombie block party," said Reyes, who has shot a series of parody zombie documentaries at various businesses around town in an effort to try and drum up support and awareness for the event. "Now all of these other businesses are jumping onboard, and it's kind of taken on a life of its own."

Tickets for the event are $10 per person, and can be purchased here
