Marine Vet Gifted Refurbished Car from South Windsor Area Businesses

South Windsor collision repair service business partners with Newington Progressive Service Center for the event.

Connecticut marine veteran Austin Searle was recently gifted a refurbished vehicle courtesy of Pete’s CARSTAR of South Windsor, Progressive® Insurance (Newington Progressive Service Center) and the National Auto Body Council (NABC).

Searle, 21, received a 2006 Chevy Equinox as part of a countrywide event called Keys to Progress, a NABC Recycled Rides project.

“It truly is satisfying to be able to thank our veterans in this way,” said Pete Gutska, owner of Pete’s CARSTAR of South Windsor, in a prepared statement.

Tom Minnick, senior claims director at Progressive Insurance, said they're happy to give veterans a boost.

"Whether they need the car to go to work, volunteer or get medical treatment, we're happy that we're able to help them keep moving forward," he said in a prepared statement.
