South Windsor Business Provides Assistance to Local Families This Holiday Season

Pete's CARSTAR of South Windsor and Farmers Insurance will present a refurbished car to local family in need and conduct a toy drive this holiday season

The following is a press release

In this season of giving, Pete’s CARSTAR of South Windsor and Farmers Insurance Group have come together to donate a car to a well-deserving family in need in their community.

The family will be selected by Connecticut non-profit organization Covenant to Care for Children (CCC), from a list of families they currently serve. For twenty-five years, CCC has provided assistance to Connecticut’s children in need and their families. The goal is to help lift some of the family’s daily pressures by providing reliable and safe transportation. The car, supplied by Farmers and refurbished by Pete’s CARSTAR, will be a 2003 Subaru Outback.

For 20 years, Pete Gutska has operated his collision repair services business, first as Pete’s Autobody and since 2000 as Pete’s CARSTAR, always located in South Windsor and since October, 2012 at a new expanded location on Route 5.

To further help other local children in need, including those from South Windsor, East Hartford, Manchester, East Windsor, Vernon, Ellington, Windsor, and Bloomfield, Pete’s CARSTAR will be conducting a Toy Drive between December 8 and December 20. People can drop off new, unwrapped toys at Pete’s CARSTAR, 459 John Fitch Boulevard (Route 5) in South Windsor. Along with toys, $25 gift cards for older children will also be accepted. CCC will deliver these toys by Christmas day to the children they serve. Those who make a donation at Pete’s CARSTAR may enter a raffle drawing to receive a free auto detailing, valued at $150.

According to Pete Gutska, owner of Pete’s CARSTAR, “We are excited to once again be helping a family improve their financial situation by providing a reliable vehicle for transportation to work.  Farmers Insurance provided the totaled vehicle, and with some parts donated by Keystone Parts in Manchester, we repaired and painted the vehicle by donating labor, supplies and registration fees.  The repairs make the car look like new and are covered by the same outstanding warranties we provide all our clients.”
