[Update 6:45 p.m. Tuesday] South Windsor Animal Control Officer Robin Bond left a message with South Windsor Patch stating that she is aware of the situation and attempted to capture the Muscovy duck. Her efforts, however, were unsuccessful.
Bond said that she has a home for the duck once it is captured.
[Original story] A duck that is possibly domesticated has apparently taken flight, showing up at a South Windsor business every morning for the last two weeks.
Employees of Route 5 Motor Cars at 1429 John Fitch Blvd. have been feeding and giving water to the wayward duck, according to Bill Manocchio, who believes the duck is domesticated because it cannot fly and it is not afraid of humans.
Manocchio, who works at Route 5 Motor Cars, said that he hopes someone claims the duck, as there are a number of coyotes and feral cats that are known to frequent the area around the shop.
The South Windsor animal control officer has been notified, but has not yet acted on the matter, Manocchio said.
Anyone with information about the duck's owner can reach Manocchio at 860-659-7407.
