Additives and Chemicals in our food

Eating whole foods will help maintain your health and prevent disease.

Where do we turn when we want sustainable long-term health and wellness?  We must look at the food we eat and move back to real whole foods.

A slice of watermelon, not a watermelon flavored roll-up for the kids, some oatmeal with a fresh apple sliced into it for breakfast with a sprinkle of cinnamon, not a packet filled with added sugar and flavoring heated in the microwave.

There are so many added chemicals for coloring and flavors as well as preservatives in our food supply today; our bodies simply do not know what to do with them.  And although one food additive taken on its own may not affect you, when combined throughout the day, it is really hard to say what effect it will have on your system.  Does red dye #whatever react with aspartame or MSG?  Each person is an individual and a combination of chemicals that impacts you may not impact your friends or family.

Rather than conducting an experiment in your own body, take a look at what is on your plate.  Look for foods in their original natural form – eat a fresh apple, wash it off and take a bite.
