2 Arrests, 22 Infractions, 7 Car Seats Handed Out, 10 Vehicles Towed

The South Windsor Police released the results of a March 22 DWI checkpoint.

The South Windsor Police Department hosted a DWI checkpoint on Saturday, March 22, on Route 5 near I-291. The results were announced on the South Windsor Police Department’s Facebook page:

  • 2 in-custody arrests
  • 9 misdemeanor summonses
  • 22 infraction tickets
  • 14 written equipment warnings
  • 27 verbal warnings
  • 10 vehicles were towed for various violations
  • 29 child safety seats were inspected for proper use

Police handed out seven car seats to motorists who lacked child safety seats or had improperly fitting seats. Among the enforcement actions were arrests for DWI, failure to carry insurance, two drug arrests and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Officers from regional traffic unit Metro Traffic Services participated.
