Arrest Made in South Windsor Furniture Theft Case

A New Britain man is accused of stealing two truckloads of furniture.

On Thursday, March 27, South Windsor Police arrested Nelson Rivera, 27, of 182 Sexton St. New Britain, on an arrest warrant.

He was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the first degree.

Rivera was held on $75,000 surety bond and was scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Friday, March 28.

Rivera’s charges stem from a 2010 burglary at a local trucking company. He and others are accused of stealing two trucks loaded with furniture from the company.

Officers submitted DNA evidence for exam and the January 2014 results indicated that Rivera was involved, according to South Windsor police. An arrest warrant was obtained and served Thursday, March 27.
