[Updated] The South Windsor Police have announced that all lanes of Route 5 are open and that the utility pole has been replaced.
[Original Story] The southbound lane of Route 5 between Sullivan Avenue (Rt 194) and Strong Road has been shut down to one lane due to a motor vehicle crash, according to the South Windsor Volunteer Fire Department.
A motor vehicle struck a utility pole, which subsequently snapped, according to South Windsor Police. No injuries were reported and CL&P has been notified, though a crew was not yet on the scene as of 7:20 a.m.
Traffic is flowing as of 12:30 p.m., according to Sgt. Scott Custer, who added that a CL&P crew is working on the issue. The traffic lights that lost power have been restored, Custer said.
