Man Charged for Allegedly Making Fake Pipe Bomb

The man reportedly left the device at his South Windsor workplace in August.

A Wallingford man is free on bond after he being charged for reportedly left a fake bomb at the South Windsor business where he works.

According to police, a realistic-looking pipe bomb was found at Environmental Services, 90 Brookfield St., in August, triggering a call to the Hartford Police Bomb squad.

The South Windsor Fire Department and South Windsor Ambulance Corps also responded and officials determined the device was an elaborate prank, which was traced Timothy Skinner, police said.

Skinner, 35, was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree breach of peace. He was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Oct. 3.
