South Windsor Volunteer Fire Department, South Windsor Ambulance and the Ambulance Service of Manchester responded to an incident this afternoon at Balsam Fir Road in which a person was reportedly run over by a piece of equipment at a construction site.
According to Fire Chief Kevin Cooney, the victim was reportedly trapped under a piece of equipment however when firefighters responded he was no longer under the vehicle. He sustained non-lifethreatening injuries to his legs, Cooney said.
According to Division Chief Carlo Piacentini, the man was in a "tight" area on a residential construction site when a driver of a piece of construction equipment accidentally ran over the victim's legs.
The victim was transported by ambulance to Hartford Hospital, according to Piacentini.
The call came in around 3:38 p.m., according to fire officials.
