South Windsor Fire Department Vehicle Damaged After Striking Deer

Deer was struck on Foster Road, causing damage to SUV's radiator.

A South Windsor Volunteer Fire Department Ford Expedition was slightly damaged after it struck a deer on Foster Road Sunday evening.

According to police Sgt. Scott Custer, the deer ran out in front of the SUV, which punctured its radiator in the collision.

The deer fled into the woods after it was struck, Custer said, while the Expedition was taken to a public works garage, where it will be fixed.

No humans were injured in the incident.

Custer declined to say whether the deer would be subject to any charges, but that it is wanted for questioning.

“The buck stopped there,” Custer quipped.
