South Windsor Man Charged with Shoplifting Beer, Pizza Ingredients, Candy

Christopher Fortin, 56, is facing a sixth degree larceny charge for allegedly attempting to shoplift from Geissler's Supermarket.

A South Windsor man is facing a sixth degree larceny charge for allegedly attempting to shoplift beer, pizza ingredients and candy from a local grocery store, according to police.

Christopher F. Fortin, 56, of 505 Foster Road, was charged on Aug. 7 after being arrested for attempting to steal a 30-pack of beer, two packages of pizza dough, one package of mozzarella cheese, one package of pepperoni and four pieces of candy from , according to police.

Police say the estimated value of the items was $40.01.

Fortin was released on a $2,000 bond; he is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Manchester on Aug. 16.
