South Windsor Police Agent Littell is Top Cop as 'Cop on Top'

Littell spent over 24 hours on the roof of T.S.I. Harley Davidson in Ellington to raise funds for Special Olympics Connecticut.

After a year-long hiatus, Cop on Top returned to T.S.I. Harley Davidson in Ellington this weekend, with Agent Ron Littell of the South Windsor Police Department braving the elements and spending over 24 hours on the roof of the motorcycle dealership from Friday into Saturday.

The event was tied in to today’s Dream Ride, with proceeds - organizers hoped to raise about $2,500 in Ellington alone - going to Special Olympics Connecticut.

This marked the third year that T.S.I. sponsored the event; Tropical Storm Irene canceled last year’s Cop on Top, so Littell’s participation this year was welcomed with open arms.

Littell, for his part, was in good spirits when the event kicked off.

Armed with a chair, sunscreen and an AM/FM radio (he hoped to catch the Yankees game played later that evening), Littell said Friday that he was ready for anything, including the mosquitoes and the heat.

“I love doing this,” Littell said.

No word on how he faired with Friday's thunderstorm, however.
