South Windsor Police Arrest Vernon Man for Second Time This Week

Fahan Khan, 22, was charged with larceny in the second degree and larceny in the sixth degree.

A Vernon man who was charged with causing a disturbance at a Blimpie restaurant and refusing to pay for his sandwich on Monday was arrested by arrested again by South Windsor police Wednesday morning.

Fahad Khan, 22, was charged with larceny in the second degree (motor vehicle) and larceny in the sixth degree (license plate) after he allegedly attempted to drive away in a 2009 Honda Accord that did not belong to him.

The keys were accidentally left in the car at a Long Road residence, according to police.

The owner of the car contacted police around 5:30 a.m., who stopped Khan a short while later. When questioned, Khan said he was picking up the car from a friend, though the car’s owner said that she had no prior relationship with him, Sgt. Scott Custer said.

Khan was also in possession of a dealer plate from CarMax in Hartford.

He was held on $20,000 surety bond and will be presented at Manchester Superior Court later Wednesday, June 12.

As for the Blimpie’s incident, Khan was released by bail commissioner on Monday, Custer said and Khan will appear in court on June 20 for that case.

In March 2012, Khan was charged by Vernon police with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace, police said.

In August 2011, Khan was charged with third-degree assault by Vernon police.
