Mohammad Farooq, 43, of 143 Candlewood Dr., was charged on Feb. 1 with third-degree criminal mischief. He was later released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Feb. 14.
According to police, Farooq’s charge stems from a November 2012 complaint by a neighbor alleging that Farooq had damaged his front door. The victim set up a video camera and captured Farooq damaging his front door by striking it repeatedly. The door was dented in numerous areas.
During an interview with police, Farooq admitted striking his neighbors door on two occasions with shoes because of an ongoing dispute over noise. An arrest warrant was later obtained for Farooq.
Luz Thomas, 51, of 9 Victorian Woods Lane, was charged on Feb. 2 with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Thomas was later released on a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Feb. 11.
According to police, a South Windsor Police officer stopped Thomas while she was driving a vehicle on Ellington Road near Chapel Road for a violation at 2:15 a.m. The officer suspected that Thomas was under the influence of alcohol. Following a series of roadside sobriety tests, officers arrested Thomas with driving under the influence.
