South Windsor Police Log: Sept. 13

Robert Kauffman, 25, of 748 Clark St., South Windsor, was arrested by warrant Sept. 10 and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Kauffman was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Sept. 23. Kauffman’s charge stems from a May 2013 motor vehicle accident on Clark Street in which police said he struck a utility pole and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Kauffman’s medical records indicated his blood alcohol content was well over the legal limit, police said.

Dustin Bartley, 28, of Stafford Springs, was arrested Sept. 12 by warrant and charged with criminal violation of a restraining order. Bartley was held on a $25,000 surety bond and presented at Manchester Superior Court later that day. Bartley’s charge stems from an August 2013 complaint that he’d contacted a woman in violation of a restraining order.
