South Windsor Police: Man Charged for Assault Over Broken Cell Phone

Argument that takes place at Revolutions Bowling and Lounge escalates into physical altercation on Saturday.

An argument over a broken cell phone at Revolutions Bowling and Lounge in South Windsor led to the arrest of a New Britain man on assault charges on Oct. 26.

According to Police Lt. Scott Custer, two men exchanged words at Revolutions after one of the men allegedly dropped a cell phone belonging to Alexis Cedeno’s fiancee. The cell phone broke, leading to a heated exchange over who was going to pay for it, Custer said.

When the man who allegedly dropped the phone attempted to leave, Cedeno proceeded to clothesline him and kick him in the head, Custer said.

The victim apparently lost consciousness briefly, Custer said, adding that multiple people were “yelling and screaming” at the bar, leading South Windsor police to call East Hartford Police for assistance.

“It was a mess,” said Custer, noting that weapons were not involved.

After reviewing security footage of the incident and getting statements from witnesses, Cedeno, 35, was charged with second-degree assault. He was released on a $5,000 surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in Superior Court on Nov. 7.

The victim was transported to Hartford Hospital for evaluation and released, Custer said.
