[Updated Jan. 2, 2013] The missing South Windsor teenager has been located, according to police spokesman Sgt. Scott Custer.

The South Windsor police department is investigating a missing person’s report involving a Jamal M. Butler of South Windsor. Jamal may be in the Torrington, area with unknown person or persons and may have plans on traveling to New York City for the New Year’s Eve festivities.
Jamal was last seen at his residence in the morning hours on Friday and at that time he was wearing gray sweatpants, a red weatherproof jacket, a hat and backpack with embroidered “NY” initials on both articles.
Jamal is described as a 17-year old black male, approximately 5-feet 8-inches in height and weighing 150 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information on Jamal’s whereabouts is asked to contact the South Windsor Police at 860-644-2551 or to call their local police. The investigating officer is Agent Michael Prescher.
