Windsor Locks Police Search for Robbery Suspect

A man allegedly robbed the Subway Restaurant on National Drive at gunpoint early Tuesday. This is the second robbery in Windsor Locks in the past week.

For the second time in six days, the Windsor Locks Police Department is investigating a robbery at a local eatery.

Early Tuesday, police were called to the Subway Restaurant on National Drive for a report of man having pointed a gun at a clerk before demanding money.

According to police, the suspect entered the store at 12:04 a.m., displayed a handgun and demanded money. After taking an undetermined amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot from the scene, police said in a release. No injuries were reported.

The man is described as having dark skin, standing approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds. During the robbery, the man wore a mask with a monkey's face, dark color pants and a black jacket with a gray hooded sweatshirt, according to police.

Last week, police responded to a call for a robbery at the Wendy's Restaurant on Ella Grasso Turnpike after a light-skinned male reached over the counter and grabbed money from a cash register. Police are still searching for that suspect and have just released a picture of the man (see attached photo).

Anyone having information regarding either crime is asked to call the Windsor Locks Police Department at 860-627- 1461.
