“Our board has done a remarkable amount of collaborative work under the leadership of Mr. David Joy. David’s passion and attention to detail is something to be emulated. He has done a tremendous amount of behind-the-scenes work with particular focus on getting a referendum passed as a first step in our referendum plan and to improve our schools,” Maneeley said.

The motion passed unanimously and Phil Koboski then nominated Maneeley as vice chairman.

“[She is] someone who has served the town of South Windsor admirably over the past several years… she’s a very well respected member of the Board of Education.. we all respect her and the knowledge she brings to the board. She always has the best interest of the students at heart,” Koboski said.

Maneeley, too was elected unanimously.

Diane Behler nominated Craig Zimmerman, the only new face on the board, as secretary and he too was unanimously approved. Behler and Maneeley noted that Zimmerman had previously served a short term on the board and received the highest number of votes in the recent election.

Maneeley thanked the voters for their support.

“Our school district is in a unique situation right now. We have the opportunity to continue the momentum we started last term,” she said.
