The following is a press release
Little Taste of Texas, which serves authentic Texas barbecue, partnered with the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter, to rustle up a downhome barbecue for hundreds of bikers riding in the 2012 NBC Connecticut MS Motorcycle Ride, held Sunday, July 22, at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford.
Restaurant owner Danny Bell brought with him, not only Texas style barbecue, but also his chuck wagon and calf roping. Butler’s fundraising team, featuring women motorcycle riders from across the state, was named for a sixth year the event’s top fundraising team. Since 2007, the Iron Maidens has raised more than $45,000 to help people battling multiple sclerosis a potentially debilitating disease Butler’s grandmother battled.
For the first time, the MS Motorcycle Ride featured two satellite start locations; one at Gengras Harley-Davidson in East Hartford and one at the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter office in Norwalk. The main start location was at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford. All three rides ended at the Oakdale Theatre, with a finish-line party featuring local rock band Vivid, a barbeque by Danny’s Little Taste of Texas, a vendor expo and more.
