Fred Astaire Dance Studio

<p>An upcoming wedding is one of the most common reasons people sign up for ballroom dance lessons, and the instructors at this swanky-looking studio know that and they want to help!</p> <p>The studio is a bright, well-appointed room with a spacious mirrored dance floor. Students are typically greeted by owner Erik Barckman, a native of Denmark who has been dancing professionally since 1973. Recruited to be a franchisee by the Fred Astaire company, he and his wife, Eva (also a professional dancer), operate this studio and another in Canton, offering classes and private instruction five days a week.</p> <p>The Barckmans'  location was voted the best dance studio of 2009 by the Hartford Advocate. </p>
