Paving of Ellington Road to Begin Next Week

A project to re-pave Ellington Road will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013.

A state-run road construction project to re-pave Ellington Road from Sullivan Avenue in South Windsor to the five-corners intersection in Ellington is scheduled to begin next Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013.

The project will see the existing pavement milled up and replaced with a two-inch bituminous concrete overlay, according to the South Windsor Public Works Director Michael Gantick.

The milling portion is scheduled for Aug. 20, 2013, and will tax approximately two days to complete. The new surface will be laid down on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, and will take an estimated six days to complete. During construction, the road will remain open with alternating one-way travel in the paving areas.
