Meet Carolyn Streeter Mirek, Republican Candidate for Town Council

Learn about this Republican candidate.

As a lifelong South Windsor resident with three generations of family residing here, I am concerned about the needs and desires of all ages. I am currently Town Treasurer and have been on the Mass Transit and Highway Advisory Commission since 2002. I have been involved in our schools from the Orchard Hill PTO to the South Windsor High School Booster Club, Friends of Performing Arts, and Project Graduation. I would like to work with the entire council to move our town forward toward common goals in a realistic and economically affordable way.

One of my top priorities is supporting our elementary school facilities to make them ADA compliant for our children and families and brought up to modern standards for learning. This could be accomplished while ultimately resolving the space issue at the Community Center for our children, teens and seniors. Also, continued economic development is necessary to broaden our tax base to fund necessary projects to keep South Windsor desirable and reduce the burden on taxpayers.
Voters who are proud of their South Windsor community need to make their voices heard and  vote on November 5th!
