Meet Lisa Maneeley, Republican Candidate for Board of Education

I am Lisa Maneeley and I am seeking reelection to the SW BOE.  I have had the unique privilege to have served both on BOE and one term on TC. 

My heart really belongs to the BOE, I am full time seventh grade math teacher at East Hartford Middle.  I have been in the profession for over 20 years.  I love every aspect of my job.  I have worked through many changes in our educational world or "bubble" as we like to call it.  I use my passion for education and apply it to my volunteerism on the SW BOE.  I have a "hands on"understanding of current educational issues. 

A major goal for this upcoming term for the BOE will be focused on elementary school facilities.  I look forward to bringing forth and then carrying out a comprehensive, responsible and feasible plan that addresses our aging elementary facilities. 

The BOE functions cohesively together and I play a strong role in that condition.  It also works closely with the superintendent and her administration in order to provide what is best for the educating of children of SW. 

The BOE can be proud of its past work with adjusting to all the mandates that have been put forth by the CT state Dept of Ed. and will continue to meet those new upcoming mandates with earnesty.  I am very excited to be a part of all the "new" that will be part of SW public schools. 

I married to Craig for 23 years and my children, Travis, Jessica and Tyler have benefited from the education they received at SW schools. I hold two Masters Degrees one in Education and another in Educational Administration/Leadership.
