In Memoriam: Hannah Patrie

Hannah Patrie, 15, died suddenly on June 29.

Hannah Elizabeth Patrie, 15, of South Windsor, beloved daughter of Michael David and Karen Ann (Minguy) Patrie, passed away suddenly on Friday, (June 29, 2012) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Hartford on December 16, 1996, Hannah was raised in South Windsor, attended South Windsor Public Schools and had recently completed her freshman year as an honor student at South Windsor High School. Hannah had a zest for life and a magnetic personality. Whether she was dancing at Footloose or Bonnie Hayes in South Windsor or performing with the Show Choir, Choral Spectrum, and the South Windsor High School Dance Team, Hannah gave her all to everything she did in life. Hannah loved music and theater. She loved listening to country music, was a self-taught pianist, and had performed for many years with the CAST Children's Theatre in Manchester. In early June, Hannah served as the team leader for the third year of team "Hope, Dream, Relay" for the South Windsor/Rockville Relay for Life. Hannah loved vacationing with her family and taking trips with her father to Bigelow Hollow and the White Mountains to hike or to kayak. Most of all, Hannah loved Disney World. Her dream was to work at Disney as Tinkerbell or as a dancer. She was an avid photographer and loved to capture the many happy and exciting moments in life through taking pictures. She also loved animals especially her cat, Cisco. Hannah's family will miss their "Sunshine", her laughing and great sense of humor, her love of Christmas and all the decorating, music, and celebrations that accompanied that time of year. Besides her parents, Michael and Karen of South Windsor, she leaves her beloved brother, Brendan Patrie of South Windsor; her sister and best friend, Tara Patrie of South Windsor; her grandparents, Dave and Betty Patrie of Chicopee, MA and Joseph and Eleanor Minguy of South Windsor; four uncles, David Patrie, Jr. and his wife Kim of Chicopee, MA, Stephen Minguy and his wife Cyndi of Christmas, FL, Kevin Minguy and Patti McNamara of South Windsor, and Brian Minguy and his wife Sandy of South Windsor; her aunt, Lynn Cote and her husband Stephen of Wilbraham, MA; eight cousins, Stephen Cote of San Francisco, Katelyn Cote of Wilbraham, MA, Melissa Koenig of Pittsburgh, PA, Kristin Minguy of Christmas, FL, Scott Minguy and Kolin Minguy of South Windsor, and Maggie Minguy and Connor Minguy of South Windsor. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on July 5, 10 a.m., at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Road, South Windsor. Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 4, 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions to help the Patrie family may be made to The Hannah Patrie Memorial Fund, c/o CAST Children's Theatre, P.O. Box 1268, Manchester, CT 06045-1268.
